Terms of service

This translation is provided for convenience. In case of differences, the Italian version prevails.
1. Who we are
MeowBoard is a service provided by Ryan Frioni, Switzerland (the "Provider"). For any communication you can write to [email protected].
2. The service
MeowBoard is a web application to manage calling cats to judges and rings during cat shows. It includes a control panel for operators, voice announcements and a public display to show in the hall. The service is used through a browser and requires an internet connection.
3. Who it is for
The service is intended for clubs, associations and show organisers (the "Customer"). Whoever accepts these terms on behalf of a club or association declares that they are authorised to do so.
4. Registration, licence and account
- The Customer registers on the website, giving true and complete details and confirming their email address. To register, they must accept these Terms and the Privacy policy.
- Registering does not yet give the right to use the service: the Provider activates the licence, at its discretion, for the agreed period, from the first to the last day stated (both included).
- The licence allows the service to be used on an unlimited number of devices, for the Customer's activities.
- The licence is personal to the Customer and may not be transferred, resold or made available to third parties for events the Customer doesn't organise.
- The Customer keeps their password, the operators' PINs and the display link safe, and is responsible for what happens with their account. In case of unauthorised use they must inform the Provider immediately. The display link can be regenerated from the panel at any time.
5. Price and payment
The price, licence duration and payment terms are those stated in the offer accepted by the Customer. The account is activated after the order and the payment have been confirmed.
6. Proper use
The Customer agrees to use the service lawfully and, in particular, not to:
- enter offensive or unlawful content, or content infringing third-party rights, in free announcements or in the names of judges or operators;
- try to access other customers' data, circumvent the licence checks or overload the service;
- copy, decompile or reproduce the software.
The Customer is responsible for the data they enter (for example judges' names) and, where necessary, for informing the people concerned, as explained in the privacy policy.
7. Availability of the service
The Provider takes the greatest care to keep the service available and working, but cannot guarantee that it is always free of interruptions or errors. Operation also depends on the Customer's internet connection and devices, which remain the Customer's responsibility. Scheduled maintenance is carried out, where possible, outside the times when the Customer has said they have events.
The voice announcements are generated by a third-party speech service. If it cannot be reached, the display uses the browser's voice, whose quality may differ. Registration and sign-in rely on Clerk, a third-party account management service.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the Provider's liability for damage related to the use of the service is limited to the amount paid by the Customer for the current licence. This limitation does not apply in case of intent or gross negligence (art. 100 of the Swiss Code of Obligations). The Provider is not liable for decisions taken during the show on the basis of the calls (for example disqualifications), which remain the responsibility of the Customer and the judges.
9. Suspension and end of the licence
- Before the first day and after the last day of the licence the service cannot be used; the Customer may ask for a renewal.
- The Provider may suspend the account in case of a serious breach of these terms or non-payment, informing the Customer.
- After the licence ends, the account data are kept to allow renewal and are deleted at the Customer's request or in any case within 12 months. Accounts registered but never activated are deleted within 12 months of registration.
10. Intellectual property
The software, the MeowBoard name and the website content remain the property of the Provider. The licence only gives the Customer the right to use the service as described in these terms.
11. Changes
The Provider may change these terms at any time, without notice. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with the date of the last update shown at the top.
The Provider does not send notifications about changes: it is the Customer's responsibility to check this page and the privacy policy regularly. Continuing to use the service after a change has been published means accepting it.
12. Applicable law and place of jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The place of jurisdiction for any dispute is the Provider's place of residence in Switzerland. Mandatory consumer protection rules remain reserved, including the place of jurisdiction provided for consumers by the applicable law.
